The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has rolled out a series of initiatives to strengthen professional development and promote good corporate governance. As part of its Capacity Building Series, ICSI has begun specialised webinars to improve the practical skills of its members and students.
ICSI has introduced new academic programmes, including a two-year full-time MBA in Maritime Regulations and Compliance Management with Gujarat Maritime University, and a Certificate Course on Corporate and Securities Markets Compliances in collaboration with the National Institute of Securities Markets. The institute has also signed MoUs with the Services Exports Promotion Council to offer customised training and provide access to global markets.
For students, ICSI has started online doubt-clearing classes for Executive and Professional Programme learners and launched Olympiads to spread awareness about the CS profession among school students.
The institute recently organised major events such as the 53rd National Convention of Company Secretaries, the 4th International Conference in Sydney, and the Middle East Conference in Abu Dhabi. It has also launched initiatives like the ICSI Guiding Principles on Stewardship, a Governance and Compliance Standard on PoSH, and the ICSI International ADR Centre. ICSI has contributed Rs 52 lakh to the Ministry of Defence and now operates six overseas centres.
