The Dramapur village panchayat on Monday razed to the ground an illegal house with the help of the demolition squad.
The panchayat had issued notices to demolish three houses in the village, which were built illegally allegedly in a no-development zone. The Salcete Block Development Officer has fixed the demolition of the remaining two houses.
An officer from the BDO, Angelico Gracias, said the house has been demolished as it was allegedly built in NDZ. The Salcete BDO office had requisitioned the services of the demolition squad for the demolition operation. The police personnel were also mobilized in strength as a precautionary measure.
