Illegal liquor seized at Nandran Mollem forest, four booked

Four persons and two two-wheelers along with illegal liquor have been seized by Collem police from Nandran Mollem forest on Friday night. Prakash Devappa Hanabar (19) and Ashok Devappa Hanabar (19), Nagesh Ashok Vadar (19) and Bodappa Narayan Hanabar (27), all from Tinaighat, Karnataka were transporting the liquor illegally. The liquor that was seized has been handed over to Sanguem excise officials.


According to Collem police, they saw two two-wheelers going to Karnataka through the forest on Friday at 9 pm. When the four persons who were on the two-wheelers were stopped and inquired, the police found 84 bottles of illegal liquor with them. The Collem police seized the liquor and took the four of them into custody, and later handed over them to Sanguem excise department officials. PI Sagun Sawant and Suman Gaonkar did the panchanama.
