The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded a yellow alert for Saturday predicting light to moderate rainfall at most places for the next seven days from Aug 19 to 25 indicating revival of monsoon.
The State had witnessed weak monsoon conditions from the beginning of August with almost all places receiving skeletal rainfall for the last two weeks.
However, Goa has witnessed fairly widespread rain from Friday with several rain gauge stations recording two digit of rainfall.
The break in the monsoon had caused some concern among the farming community.
But after a break of nearly two weeks there are signs that southwest monsoon may revive again giving hope to the agriculturists.
Almost most places in the State received widespread rain on Saturday.
