In an unusual incident, an impaired man was found seated near the decomposed body of his 70-year-old mother at Mastimoll-Canacona on Tuesday.
According to reports, Canacona police received a call on Tuesday morning stating that a woman was found dead and in decomposed condition inside her house behind the ITI at Mastimoll.
A police team went to the house and on enquiry found out that Laxmi Dotrekar (70) was lying dead on the bed and the body was in a decomposed state. Her impaired son was found seated near the body.
Police further informed that the woman was staying along with her son at their residence and was last seen by neighbours on Saturday evening.
Police conducted the panchanama and sent the body for an autopsy at the South Goa District Hospital at Margao. Canacona PSI Babu Dessai is conducting further inquiry in the matter.
