The two projects were inaugurated at the hands of senior  citizens, thus becoming the only panchayat on Goa to offer these one of its  kind services to the villagers.
Sarpanch Frank Fernandes told the media that the composting machine has a capacity to compost wet garbage up to 75 kg a  day.
“The composting machine will take care of the wet waste generated  in the panchayat as well as the village market area,” Frank said, adding  the composition machine has been installed as part of the panchayat’s  efforts to resolve the garbage problem affecting the village. The panchayat  has been collecting dry waste since the last several months.
On the online payment of house tax and light tax, the sarpanch said that by launching the facility, the panchayat has  fulfilled the needs of the villagers and household owners, especially  those staying at different locations. “This online payment facility will  save the time of household owners as they no longer need to visit the panchayat to make the house tax and light tax payments,” the sarpanch  added.
The panchayat has informed that taxpayers can make the  payments online from the website www.vpnavelim.com. The user shall enter  the respective house number or the customer ID to view the details of the  dues of both house/light tax. Also, the user, whose dues are pending for  a considerable period will have the option of paying arrears and the current  dues in two installments.
