PONDA

The Congress leader and Ponda MLA Ravi Naik has come down heavily on Minister for Public Works Department (PWD) Sudin Dhavalikar claiming the inauguration of Khandepar bridge is illegal as the contractor is yet to give it in the possession of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

The Former Chief Minister in a news conference said that besides illegally inaugurating the bridge, Dhavalikar has violated the law by organising Christmas programs on same incomplete bridge.

“How can MG (Maharashtrawadi Gomantak) party organise programs on bridge? It is completely illegal. As per law one cant organise events on national highways. How MG Party was allowed to do it?” Naik questioned.

Naik has demanded enquiry into the matter of inauguration of bridge during night time and also of programs organised by the MG Party.

This bridge was inaugurated last week at around 7 pm. The work of approach road connecting bridge is incomplete. This has invited criticism against the

PWD Minister.

“I boycotted the program as it was illegal. Even Union Minister Nitin Gadakari and people of Khandepar didn’t attend the function for the same reason,”

Naik said.

Naik after the news conference inspected the work of bridge and reiterated the demand of enquiry into whole issue.

Sudin Dhavalikar could not be reached for a comment.
