The candidates who are elected are Sandeep Bandodkar (Ward 1), Sonal Malwankar (Ward 2), Brenda Vaz (Ward 3), Amarnath Govekar (Ward 4), Roshan Rane (Ward 5), Karan Govekar
(Ward 6), Pramila Govekar (Ward 8) and Santosh Bandodkar (Ward 9).
The only independent candidate who lost is Gurunath Bandodkar from Ward 7 (PDA Colony).
Speaking to The Goan, former sarpanch Amarnath Govekar said the panel of nine candidates fought the election on their own without the support of any political party.
“We are glad that voters have reposed confidence in them. First and foremost objective would be to build new Panchayat Ghar and complete the sports project. Pilerne Panchayat is facing water problem and the priority would be to construct atleast two overhead water tanks,” said Govekar.
“Besides the work of widening and hot mixing of internal roads, proper illumination of street lights would be given priority,” said Govekar.
