Stating that Goa has 100% LPG penetration with every family having an LPG connection, the Indian Oil Corporation has plans to commission as many as five CNG stations by March.
Addressing a news conference at the IOC Vasco Terminal, Maharashtra and Goa State Indian Oil Executive Director (incharge) Murali Srinivasan said liquid fuels will continue to remain Indian Oil’s key product offering in the years to come, but added that Indian Oil is equally focused on creating supply points for alternate fuels.
“In Goa, Indian Oil has one petroleum, oil and lube (POL) terminal at Vasco and one aviation fuel station at Dabolim. Petrol and diesel to retail outlets in Goa is supplied from Zuari Indian Oil Tanking Limited (ZIOTL) in Zuari Nagar.”
“Indian Oil has a network of 5 LPG distributors out of a total of 54 LPG distributors under all the Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) in the state. A total of 13,200 LPG connections are active as on date with Indian Oil having 15,800 connections. The domestic LPG market share of Indian Oil is 2.7%,” said Srinivasan.
“CNG stations are being rolled out at our existing retail outlets. We are already in final stage of commissioning 2 CNG stations in North Goa and planning to commission three more by March 2020,” said Srinivasan.
He further stated that due to combined efforts of all OMCs, Goa has 100% LPG penetration, with every family having an LPG connection.
“Over 92.9 % of LPG connections have been linked with Aadhaar numbers for faster disbursement of government subsidy. To ensure uninterrupted POL supplies in Goa, OMCs have a total network of 119 retail outlets, of which Indian Oil has 33 including 2 KSKs (Kisan Seva Kendra) with a market share of 29.06%,” said Srinivasan.
Srinivasan said in order to ensure transparency and assured quantity of fuel delivery, Indian Oil has embarked on a major drive of retail automation across the country.
“In Goa, Indian Oil has already automated 100% of its retail outlets. In order to harness the potential of solar energy in the state, Indian Oil has already solarised two retail outlets and work in progress is underway to solarise 8 more by June.”
