Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is the new Ex-Officio Chairperson of IPB, while Information & Technology (IT) Minister Rohan Khaunte and Tourism Minister Manohar Babu Azgaonkar are both appointed as Vice-Chairpersons of the board.
The State government has chosen an eclectic mix of industrialists to be members of the IPB. They are Atrey Sawant (chairman, CII Goa Council and business head, Aterya Engineering Works Ltd); Ernest Dias (chief operating officer, Sita Travels and TCI) Yatin Kakodkar (co-founder, Apex Packing Products), Girish Bharne (centre head, Persistent Systems), Rajkumar Kamat (promoter, EP Kamat Group) and Shekhar Sardessai (chairman, Kineco Kaman Composites India).
The industry representatives, who are members of IPB, have extensive experience in their fields.
Girish Bharne is one of the senior-most people working in IT in Goa today. Bharne’s experience will be relevant since an electronic system design and manufacturing (ESDM) park and an IT park is planned in the State.
Similarly, Ernest Dias has been working in tourism industry for decades. Considering that tourism is a crucial sector for Goa’s economy, his experience will be important to the board.
Shekhar Sardessai is the chairman of Kineco Kaman Composites India, which manufacturers advanced composite structures for clients like BAE Systems, Hindustan Aeronautics and Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre. Earlier, Sardessai was the chairman of CII Goa Council.
Chairman of CII Goa Council, Atrey Sawant has extensive experience in shipbuilding, ship-repair and services.
Rajkumar Kamat, is the promoter of EP Kamat Group, which manufactures fibre glass, fire-doors and other industrial products.
Meanwhile, Ashton Godinho will be the chief executive officer (CEO) of the board.
