Italian firm opens facility at Verna in 18 months

PANAJI

Italian firm EuroStampa has operationalised its Asian manufacturing plant at Verna, taking less than 18 months to set it up since being allocated the land there.

The plant was commissioned at the hands of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and in the presence of the Italian Consul General in Mumbai, Waltar Ferara, on Thursday.

Sawant said the completion of the facility in 18 months, from plot allotment to construction, exemplifies Goa’s improved Ease of Doing Business environment (EODB).

EuroStampa is a global player in label printing for wines and spirits brands, besides other brands in the food and cosmetics industry.

According to Sawant, they chose Goa over many other locations in Asia, which reflects the State’s growing appeal as an investment destination.

EuroStampa has inked a deal with Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, to enable student internships and placement opportunities.
