The Jain International Trade Organisations (JITO) organised a two-day Jain Utsav at the BS Jirge Hall of the JN Medical College here.
Office bearers from Goa, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Kerala were present at the event. Speaking after inaugurating the festival, MLA Abhay Patil lauded the work of the organisation for the community’s development.
“Many important works including cooperation, financial assistance, and administrative service training are being taken up which is commendable. Today, JITO is operating in 40 countries worldwide. The organisation should now start large-scale enterprises in Belgavi,” said MLA Patil, while assuring government assistance to the JITO.
Former MLA Sanjay Patil said that JITO has given more emphasis on business activities along with social work, which is a model work for other social organisations.
Zonal Secretary Dilip Jain, Chairman Ashoka Salecha and Vinod Jain spoke at the function. Industrialist and philanthropist Gopal Jinagouda was felicitated on the occasion.
JITO Belgaum Division President Veerdhavala Upadhye welcomed the guests at the function, while Secretary Ashoka Kataria later delivered a vote of thanks.
