The sensational Swapnil Walke murder case has been handed over to the Crime branch for further investigations.
Superintendent of Police, South Pankaj Kumar Singh informed that the police department has issued an order transferring the Swapnil Walke murder case to the Crime branch. “The Margao police will hand over the two accused arrested in the case as well as the investigations to the Crime Branch on Saturday”, SP Pankaj told The Goan on Friday.
The transfer of the cold-blooded murder case comes three days after the Margao Police headed by PI Sachin Narvekar had started investigations in the case. The decision assumes significance and comes against the backdrop of the investigations conducted by the Margao police so far.
The crime branch had been roped in the case right from day one, when the agency was involved in the investigations. The first success in the case came in the wee hours of Thursday when a crime branch team comprising of police officer Dattaguru Sawant managed to nab two accused.
While the Margao police has arrested one of the accused Omkar Patil, the second suspect has still not been arrested by the police on ground that he was not part of the accused involved in the murder on Wednesday.

One of the suspects, who was taken into custody, but still not arrested, told media at the South Goa district headquarters that Mustafa and another accused had allegedly travelled to Bihar to procure the pistol as part of the plan.
He is believed to have told the investigating agency that Mustafa and the other accused had called him over the phone and had told him that they are in Bihar to procure the country made pistol. The Margao police is verifying the statement of the suspect.
