Former legislator Jitendra Deshprabhu has formally staked claim for the North Goa Lok Sabha Congress ticket, being the first prominent Congressman to stake claim in North Goa.
Talking to 'The Goan' on Thursday, Deshprabhu said he resolved to develop Goa in the field of agriculture and would help generate employment, amongst the other areas that the state has been lagging behind in.
"In the past 20 years, Goa has lost its potential for development in these areas, and it's time Goa and its people are given their due," said Deshprabhu.
While Deshprabhu is the first prominent name to formally stake claim for the North Goa ticket, three familiar faces viz. former Chief Minister and former MP Francisco Sardinha, Mahila Congress chief Adv Pratima Coutinho, and former youth Congress president Adv Valanka Alemao have already staked claim for the South Goa Congress ticket.
