Job opportunities beckon for Goan engineers in Belagavi

A large number of Goans who have pursued their engineering now have job opportunities as the Belagavi-based Quest Global, a global product engineering and lifecycle services company, will be hiring over 1,500 engineers in the next five years to strengthen its presence in Belagavi.   

The company currently has about 500 employees working in Aerospace and Oil & Gas domains at its Belagavi delivery centre.   The company is primarily planning to hire mechanical, manufacturing and digital engineers to enhance its focus on new age digital technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, Internet of Things, Data Analytics etc.  

Speaking to media persons in Belagavi on Thursday, Shrikanth D Naik, Head “ Global Delivery, QuEST Global has invited youth from Belagavi and Goa region to grab the opportunities offered by the company.   

“The delivery centre in Belagavi is a part of the company’s vision to become the most recognised and trusted global engineering services and solutions provider to its customers across different verticals. The expansion at the Belagavi centre is part of the company’s overall growth plan.”  

The company also plans to set up a remote monitoring Centre of Competence in Belagavi for its Oil & Gas customers that will help them in solving some of the toughest problems faced by the customers while they create new products, open new markets and maximize efficiency.   Citing the need for integrating mechanical and digital worlds, Shrikanth added: “At QuEST, we are at the forefront of the convergence of mechanical, electronics, software and digital engineering innovations which helps us to provide innovative solutions.”  

In an effort to bridge the gap between the industry and academia, QuEST has been associating with engineering colleges in Belagavi, Bengaluru and other Indian cities.   

“The company has been working with KLS Gogte Institute of Technology, Belagavi for the past nine years, where our technical experts train students in specific technologies in mechanical engineering and give lectures,” Naik added.
