Jobs-for-cash scam: AAP calls for judicial inquiry, protection for main accused

PANAJI
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa State convenor Amit Palekar on Friday demanded the immediate resignation of Power Minister Ramkrishna (Sudin) Dhavalikar and called for an independent judicial probe into the entire jobs-for-cash scam.
“Dhavalikar must resign immediately. Only an independent judicial inquiry can bring out the truth,” Palekar said, adding that the government must give protection to scam accused Pooja Naik, who has publicly named Dhavalikar and two government officials, Nikhil Desai, IAS, and current Principal Chief Engineer (PWD), Uttam Parsekar.
Palekar also said the government must get her statement recorded before a Magistrate.
Earlier, Pooja Naik, in the presence of Palekar, who claimed she had approached him for help, named Dhavalikar, Desai and Parsekar. She also dismissed Dhavalikar's claim that she had “bought the media”, saying: “How can someone in my financial condition do that?”
She also said she was first exposed to the scam back in 2012, when she worked at the MGP office.
