The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday admitted Arjun Appa Gurav of Valpoi into the party along with his supporters in the presence of State convenor Amit Palekar and General Secretary Shrikrishna Parab.
Gurav is a former Valpoi block president of the Congress party and joined the AAP along with a dozen supporters, including Ganesh Chorlekar, Pramod Gaonkar, Amarnath Kopardekar, Tulshidas Gonkar, and Laxman Gavkar.
Gurav, who spoke to the media, highlighted the long-standing issues of Sattari, where he said, villages lack adequate roads and power infrastructure.
“AAP has now begun establishing its grassroots presence in Sattari. Looking at the current political scenario in Goa, it is difficult to understand who stands with whom. Instead of being dragged around by unreliable leaders, we have chosen AAP, whose leaders are consistently and firmly against the ruling BJP,” Gurav said.
Meanwhile, Palekar said Gurav and his supporters joining the party has added momentum to their growing organisational strength and marks a major boost for the party’s expansion in Valpoi and across Sattari.
