The grand opening of the Joggers Park at Chicalim was on Sunday postponed to Monday on account of national mourning due to the death of Kuwait's Amir.
The joggers park phase two, one of the most awaited project and an ambitious project of Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho was to be inaugurated at the hands of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in the presence of Minister Mauvin Godinho, Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Tanavade , Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar, Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar and others.
Many events were planned on the grand inauguration ceremony for people of all ages and the entire plan had to be postponed to Monday evening.
A message from Mauvin Godinho handle on social media X later said that the inauguration of the Joggers Park was rescheduled to Monday evening.
" This decision is in response to state mourning declared by the state and central government, following the passing of His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah , the Amir of the state of Kuwait. We appreciate you understand and look forward to welcoming you on the revised date," said the message.
