CANACONA
Praising journalists for pointing out mistakes and shortcomings, Canacona Municipal Council Chairperson Ramakant Naikgaunkar said it has enabled politicians, authorities and others concerned to improve themselves.
“Journalists must point out mistakes and shortcomings. We may say some journalists are doing negative journalism, but these very journalists by their “negative” reportage bring out positive results for the benefit and betterment of society,” said Naikgaunkar.
He was speaking at the Lokmanya Balgangadhar Tilak Punyathiti (Tilak’s Anniversary), celebrated as ‘Patrakar Din’ by the Canacona Patrakar Sangh (CPS) on Tuesday.
“Journalists should not fall prey to threats by politicians, and should report freely. Honest journalists will definitely get appreciation and support from public.”
