Juris Open-17 festival celebrated at Margao college

Vidya Vikas Mandal’s GR Kare College of Law, Margao, hosted a national inter-law collegiate festival, Juris Open-2017 from February 5 to 7. The festival was inaugurated by Audhoot Timblo in the presence of Ganesh Daivajna, President, VVM, Adv Pritam Morais, VP, VVM, Dr Saba da Silva, Principal, GR Kare College of Law, Adv Gurudatt Mallya, Chairman, Organising Committee, CJF Prasanna Kumar, Associate Professor and Chief Coordinator, Juris Open, Shruti Nadkarni and Prasanna Timble, assistant professors and faculty coordinators, Juris Open.

12 teams from law colleges participated in the festival which provided a platform for institutions across the country to participate and showcase their talent in the areas of Moot Court, Legal Quiz, Legal Drafting and Troubleshoot: Crises Management in law.

Ideal School of Management, Technology and School of Law, New Delhi emerged winners of Moot Court while the runners up was VM Salgaocar College of Law, Goa. Dr Ambedkar Government Law College, Chennai won the Troubleshoot: Crises Management in law. Symbiosis Law School won the first place and DES’s Society’s Navalmal Firodia Law College Pune were runners up in the Legal Drafting Competition. The Juris Open Champions Trophy was bagged by Amity Law School, Delhi, they were also winners of Legal Quiz and runners up in Troubleshoot: Crises Management in law.

The competitions were judged by members of the judiciary, advocates and academicians. Justice FM Reis, Bombay High Court and Senior Advocate Saresh Lotliker, Advocate General of Goa were judges of the finals of Moot Court.

PANAJI Following an uproar from political elements, Directorate of Panchayats has put on hold till March 11 the process for delimitation and reservation of panchayat wards in 190 panchayats as a part of the preparations for the upcoming panchayat polls.
