The Kadamba bus service operating in Koparde village of Sattari has been suspended for the past few months, causing major inconvenience to local residents and students.

As a result, students are forced to walk to Valpoi to attend school, facing several difficulties on a daily basis.

Taking serious note of the issue, local MLA Deviya Rane raised the matter in the Legislative Assembly and drew the attention of the chairman of the Kadamba Transport Corporation, demanding the immediate restoration of the bus service.

According to available information, the distance between Valpoi and Koparde is around five kilometres. Many students from Koparde village travel to various schools in Valpoi for their education.

Earlier, a Kadamba bus service was available for their morning and afternoon commute. However, the bus service was suddenly discontinued a few months ago. Despite repeated complaints made to the Kadamba Transport Corporation, no action has been taken so far.

Students and their parents have also approached the MLA regarding the issue. Although efforts were made by the MLA to resolve the matter, the bus service has not yet been restored. As a result, students are facing significant hardships while travelling to school.

During the ongoing Assembly session, MLA Deviya Rane raised the issue and demanded that the suspended Kadamba passenger bus service be restarted immediately.

She stated that the bus service is extremely important for the educational development of students. In addition, many villagers travel to Valpoi for personal and government-related work. Due to the absence of a proper bus service, they are forced to face several difficulties.

Buses operating on the Thane–Valpoi route do not stop at the Koparde bus stop, which has further increased the problems of local residents.

Consequently, many people are forced to walk nearly five kilometers to reach Valpoi. Highlighting the seriousness of the issue, the MLA urged the Chairman and management of the Kadamba Transport Corporation to take immediate action and restart the bus service.

It may be noted that the MLA had raised this issue earlier as well in the Assembly. Several bus services in Sattari taluka have been discontinued, creating serious transportation problems for people living in rural areas.
