MAPUSA
Former president of Mapusa Municipal Council and sitting councillor Sudhir Kandolkar who was very close to late Francis D’Souza started his Mapusa byelection campaign on Sunday by breaking a coconut at Shri Rastroli temple.
Although Kandolkar’s name as candidate for the bypolls has not been announced by the BJP, he and about 200 of his supporters visited Rastroli temple at Angod to seek God’s blessings before going from house to house in the Rajwada area. According to Kandolkar, he is getting a very good response from the people.
In the last Goa Assembly election, Kandolkar was offered a party ticket by some political parties, but he rejected the offer due to his strong affiliation for Francis D’Souza.
Kandolkar has now applied for a BJP ticket.
