Karwar man arrested in narcotics raid at Canacona

CANACONA


A man from Karwar has been arrested for allegedly possessing narcotic substances worth Rs 62,000 at Rajbagh-Tarir in Canacona on Wednesday night.

According to Canacona police, a raid was conducted at Rajbagh-Tarir, during which the accused, Rashmit Naik, was caught red-handed with 2.0 grams of MDMA and 2.8 grams of cocaine. Naik, who resides at Shristhal, Canacona, was apprehended while allegedly attempting to deliver the narcotic substances to prospective customers at Rajbagh-Tarir between 10 pm on Wednesday and 12.20 am on Thursday.

The MDMA is valued at approximately Rs 20,000, while the cocaine is valued at around Rs 42,000.

The narcotics raid was conducted by a police team led by PSI Ajit Velip. The accused has been arrested under Sections 22(b) and 21(b) of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Ramdas Doifode of Canacona Police Station.
