The Kavale panchayat has decided to impose garbage collection tax to bear the expenditure of same. It has also decided to revise trade license fees.
The gramsabha presided by Rajesh Kavalekar discussed the garbage collection tax, revising trade license fees and making mega housing projects mandatory to have STP.
Kavalekar also informed that at present the panchayat collects door-to-door wet garbage in four wards out of nine. “To bear the expenditure we will have to levy tax”, he said, but said the tax will be reasonable.
He also said that panchayat will issue notices to households that have rented rooms and have failed to pay one month rent to panchayat.
