Highlighting the need for reservation to Schedule Tribes in assembly seats, Delhi Chief Minister and Convener of Aam Aadmi Party Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said his party would fulfill these reservations if they were to come to power in Goa.
Addressing a public meeting at Shiroda in support of AAP candidate, Molu Velip, who belongs to the ST community, Kejriwal also mentioned that his party had allotted tickets to ST candidates.
AAP’s chief ministerial candidate Elvis Gomes, Molu Velip, Martin Rodrigues, Rahul Mhambre, Shiroda panch member Chaya Velip and others were present on the occasion.
“Reservation should not be stopped till weaker sections get their rights. Here in Goa, there is a sizeable ST population. But they are deprived of reservation in assembly seats. Let our government come to power and we will give this reservation to ST,” said Kejriwal.
Kejriwal also promised to give a new look to government schools in Goa, so that people would admit their children in these institutions.
“In Delhi, we have constructed 250 new schools. They have swimming pool and also lifts. These schools give quality education and hence, students from private schools are joining government schools,” he said.
