Canacona police have arrested a 28-year-old man from Kerala on charges of possessing drugs valued at Rs 1.35 lakh in Canacona on Friday.
According to Canacona police, the accused, Arun K M Avnissert of Thrissur-Kerala but staying in a house at Guraval-Agonda, was caught red-handed in illegal possession of MDMA weighing 13.5 gms in a raid conducted at Char-Rasta UnderPass on the Service road leading from Char-Rasta to Power“Station.
The accused was allegedly waiting for delivery to a prospective customer, when a police raiding team led by Canacona PSI Babu D Desai nabbed him.
The accused has been booked under the NDPS Act and is lodged in police custody. Further investigation is being carried out by Canacona PSI Rajasekhar Reddy.
