Taking cognisance of the villagers demand, Keri panchayat in Sattari taluka has decided to allot token numbers for newly constructed houses in its jurisdiction at a special gram sabha held on Sunday morning.
At the meeting, Keri sarpanch Govind Gawas said that a survey will be done with the help of concerned ward member regarding the house constructed in their respective wards and after completion of documentary procedure a token number for the same would be allotted.
At the special gram sabha convened on Sunday at Keri Sattari to sort out the allotment of token number for the newly constructed houses, heated discussion were observed between the villagers and a panch member. Finally, the panch came to a decision to resolve this issue which was pending for last two years.
The meeting was chaired by Sarpanch Govind Gawas along with panch member Laxman Gawas, Vasudev Sawant, Satyawan Gawas, Dnaneswari Shetkar, Ankita Gawas and other panch member Secretary Laxman Naik was also present for the meeting.
Initially former sarpanch Ganu Gawas and Vasant Gawas raised concern for the delay in resolving the issue and questioned the panchayat body about the same.
Replying to the issue, Sarpanch Govinda Gawas said that panchayat member has to confirm whether the token number which would be given should be permanent structure. Non Goans cannot be allowed to take benefit of token number for their houses.
Replying to the charges made by former sarpanch Ganu Gawas regarding bribes taken to allot token numbers, Govinda has refuted such charges
and said it is baseless to say that any member is involved in such a scam.
