The Oxel gram sabha on Sunday discussed the issue of notices to be served to some residents found releasing their waste water in Chapora river and decided to convene a meeting with residents concerned to resolve the issue.
The gram sabha was chaired by Oxel Sarpanch Vandana Narvekar and since it was attended by very few residents, the meeting took place in the office of the sarpanch.
Panch members Mangesh Chodankar, Reshal Harmalkar, Mahadev Harmalkar, Vanita Banaulikar and Pravin Kochrekar were present at the gram sabha.
The issue of water harvesting was also discussed at the meeting.
Narvekar assured that the garbage issue would be resolved, while Pritesh Chodankar raised the issue of the crematorium and requested the panchayat to repair it.
The low turnout at the gram sabha was also an issue for discussion and residents present at the meeting claimed that information regarding the gram sabha had not reached across the village.
