Madhu Khandeparkar was elected unopposed as Sarpanch of Bethora Panchayat in Shiroda on Thursday morning.
He has been elected to the post of Sarpanch for the second time, after an 11-year gap. Umesh Gaude had resigned as Sarpanch and the post was vacant. As only one application was received for the post of Sarpanch, of Madhur Khandeparkar, he was elected unopposed by the election officers.
All panch members were present for the election. Khandeparkar, after being elected as Sarpanch, assured the locals that he would be working for the development of the region under the guidance of Water Resources Minister Subhash Shirodkar.
