Tourism Minister and Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte said he has selected like-minded candidates who will provide efficient and transparent administration to the people of Porvorim constituency and assist him in achieving his vision of making Porvorim an ideal constituency.
Addressing a news conference, Khaunte appealed to voters of Penha de Franca, Socorro and Salvador do Mundo to support his candidates to achieve sustainable development of the constituency.
“I have chosen candidates, both young and experienced, so that people get good administration and solve their issues relating to water, power supply, garbage collection etc. Candidates who believe in 'Family Raj' have been sidelined.”
“Panch members contribute a lot to the development of the village. Sustainable development is not hindered if like-minded candidates get elected as panch members,” said Khaunte.
The candidates who are contesting panchayat elections under the panels of Khaunte are as follows:
Socorro: Agnelo Lobo (1), Sonia Pednekar (2), Vaishali Kisan Satardekar (4), Gauri Volvoikar (5), Deepika Pednekar (6), Maya Keni (7), Shamsudar Kamat (8), Sachi Manjrekar (9), Sarvesh Halarnkar (10) and Ravlu Parsekar (11).
Salvador Do Mundo: Marina Moraes (1), Prakash Gadkar (4), Deepraj Naik (5), Sumita Gad (6), Vijay Dalvi (7), Sanchita Mandrekar (8), Dipali Kundaikar (9), Sandeep D Salgaonkar (Ward 2) and Reena Fernandes (Ward 3) have been elected unopposed.
Penha de Franca: Siddesh Dhavde (1), Ghanshyam (Ravi) Naik (2), Francis D'Souza (3), Narayan (Papa) Naik (5), Swapnil Chodankar (6), Dipali Wernekar (7), Pushkaraj (Raj) Shirodkar (9), Vishranti Desai (10), Safar Phadte (11). Siddesh Naik (Ward 8) has been elected unopposed.
