KLE Hospital PRO passes away after heart attack

Belagavi

Shankar Fakirappa Parasannavar (56), Chief Public Relations Officer (PRO) at KLES Dr Prabhakar Kore Hospital and Research Centre, passed away after suffering a heart attack on Saturday afternoon.

Parasannavar had been serving patients, including a large number from Goa, for over 25 years. He is survived by his wife, son and daughter.

According to colleagues and hospital sources, he collapsed at work following a massive heart attack.

“Nothing could be done though he was in the hospital, as the attack was severe,” a doctor said.

Parasannavar was known for his dedication and friendly approach. Many Goans sought his guidance, and he often went out of his way to provide the right information and advice about the hospital and its doctors. “He played a key role in shaping the hospital’s public outreach and communication. His sudden passing has created a void that will be difficult to fill,” said Medical Director Col (Dr) Dayanand.

The entire staff of KLE Hospital expressed deep sorrow and offered prayers for the departed soul.
