A man from Kolhapur was killed while his uncle was injured in a road mishap near the Naibag bridge at Pernem that occurred late Tuesday night.
According to sources, a truck loaded with iron bars was being driven by deceased, Anil Hegde, when the vehicle rammed into another truck that was parked by the roadside.
Anil died on the spot while his uncle Vilas Hegde was injured in the mishap. A Pernem fire tender led by Assistant Officer Prashant Dhargalkar had to cut open the cabin of the truck to pull out both occupants in the truck. Pernem PSI Vivek Halarnkar conducted the panchanama.
