MARGAO
The much-awaited Konkani feature film Claudia is set to release across Goa on December 19. The film will be screened at INOX Panaji, INOX Margao (G Wing), INOX Porvorim, K Sera Sera, Vasco (7.00 pm), and Magic Moviez, Ponda. Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Rajendra Talak, Claudia is his eighth feature film.
He fondly acknowledged Frank Fernand, C Alvares, Antonette, Martha, Romeo, Shalini, Mollie, M Boyer, Anthony Mendes, Wilfy Rebimbus, P B Sreenivas, Chris Perry, M Alphonso, Luis Martins, Amit Kumar, Hemlata, Alfred Rose and Lorna, saying their songs continue to live on in people’s hearts. Talak said listening to these songs since the 1970s inspired him to tell the story of a musician, woven around the golden melodies of the 1960s and 1970s. He added that music has always been an essential part of his films.
Claudia stars Shishir Sharma as a musician, with strong support from Meera Welankar, Mukesh Ghatwal, Omar De Loiola Pereira, Lulu Fortes, Dr Hubert Gomes, Dr Jeetendra Nagarsekar and Sonia Shirsat. Child artistes Minerva Naval Naik and Maanas Talak also feature in the film.
The music has been recreated by composer Ashok Patki, while keeping the original soul intact. Shot entirely in Goa, the film features cinematography by Deep Sawant, editing by Vardhan Dhaimodkar and costumes by actress Priyanka Talak.
The film promises a nostalgic musical experience for audiences of all ages.
