Lakhs in cash stolen, CCTV DVR missing in Navelim bungalow theft

Margao police rushed to Navelim on late Wednesday evening after receiving information of a major theft in a residential bungalow.

Preliminary information suggest that the miscreants decamped with cash amounting to lakhs of rupees.

South Goa Superintendent of Police, Santosh Desai informed that the Margao police have started investigations into the case.

He said the police forensic team has rushed to Navelim to assist in the investigations

"Right now, the complainant has claimed that cash from his bungalow has been stolen. We will get to know the exact amount after the complainant gives a written complaint, he said.

Police said the family had gone to Odisha for a function around three days ago. They returned home on Wednesday evening only to find the front door broken open.

Their worst fears came true when they found the cash missing.

Police said the miscreants have lifted away the DVR of the CCTV system.
