OLD GOA
Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) and St Andre MLA Viresh Borkar along with other members of the party on Wednesday halted a huge land filling activity in Curca.
MLA Borkar was accompanied by RGP President Manoj Parab and others.
The MLA called the flying squad, the Tiswadi Mamlatdar and other authorities over the land filling activity, and stopped the same.
Later speaking to reporters, Borkar informed that the area where the land filling is undertaken has a huge gradient and truckloads of mud have been used to fill the slope and level the area.
“When the activity was brought to my notice, I immediately called the flying squad, the Tiswadi Mamlatdar as well as other authorities and the work was halted,” Borkar stated while alleging that the activity is undertaken by a BJP MLA.
“From the I & XIV form of the property, we have found out that it belongs to a BJP MLA,” Borkar said while adding that the CM as well as the TCP minister should take cognisance in the matter and initiate action against their MLA.
“I will also raise the issue in the Assembly as huge environmental damage is done through the land filling activity,” he added.
