Acting on the complaint of PDA, the police arrested the 15 workers and the land owner.
It may be recalled that on May 15, some residents had filed a complaint with the Flying Squad stating that a person allegedly dumped mud into a field at Sonar-Bhat.
Accordingly, the officials of the Flying Squad inspected the area. Later, Deputy Collector Trupti Manerkar issued a show-cause notice ordering the accused land owner to stop the work.
Sources informed that the land owner still continued with the mud dumping work and the residents again lodged a complaint.
Accordingly, the PDA officer Dilip Sawant lodged a complaint with Saligao Police.
The police conducted the raid at the spot and nabbed the accused land owner red handed after he was seen dumping mud in the field. Saligao Police arrested land owner and 15 workers.
