Although the government has notified a place near the Guirim - Karaswada Highway for dumping of  mud, most builders and common people are found dumping their construction debris in any available open place and/or field along the highway. 

In the jurisdiction of Mapusa Municipal Council “ at Kuchelim and Gavsawada, work of land filling has been going on unabated since the last few days, especially during the night. 

“We have written a letter to the Mapusa Police to keep a check on those who dump mud. We will inspect the places at Kuchelim and Gavsawada where land filling is going on. We will also refer the matter to the Dy Collector to take action under the provisions of the TCP Act,” informed Mapusa Municipal Council Chief officer Clen Madeira.
