Leak in PNG pipeline triggers fire in Margao — The PNG gas pipeline which caught fire due to a leakage.

Margao fire brigade rushed to the Rumdamol housing board on Wednesday morning following a call that a roadside PNG gas pipeline caught fire behind Maruti Temple due to a leakage.

Fire Officer Gill Souza informed that the duty crew extinguished the fire and staff from the PNG Gas Pipeline Agency repaired the pipeline.

Questions, however, are being raised how the pipeline was exposed when it ought to be laid underground.

Sources said the Fire officials will call representatives of the agency to put all safety measures in place.
