The Leela Goa who celebrated 25 years in the hotel business recently, has been awarded a place among world's top 100 luxury hotels by Conde Nast Traveller's Readers Travel Awards, 2015.
The hotel boasting over 200 rooms is the only one to have been awarded the recognition in India.
According to a press release issued, the resort celebrated the recognition with the 'stalwarts' of Goa’s travel, tourism and hospitality industry, who came by to applaud Nair and his team at a celebratory event last month. Shiv Sena Supremo Uddhav Thackeray flew in from Mumbai to be the chief guest.
"We were the first luxury resort to open in south Goa thereby playing an instrumental role in positioning the area as one of the most sought-after luxury tourist destinations in the country. This prestigious recognition is like the icing on the cake, and is sweeter as it comes during our silver jubilee celebration," Leela's General Manager Shridhar Nair said.
