Legal Metrology officials seize 5 unauthorised weighing scales

Officials of the Legal Metrology department on Monday descended on the Nuvem market and seized five weighing scales which were used by the vendors without getting it stamped and registered with the authorities.   

Following complaints of the vendors using faulty scales, a team of legal metrology officials comprising legal metrology inspector Vikas Khandolkar and Purusham conducted random checking of the electronic weighing scales at the Nuvem market and found as many as five scales unstamped.   

Legal Metrology inspector Vikas Khandolkar explained that the officials have seized all the five electronic scales, adding that necessary procedure will be set in motion against the erring vendors.
