The buses belonging to the NWKRTC and KTC Goa were plying between Belagavi and Goa normally. A couple of KTC buses arrived in Belagavi on Sunday morning. Traffic on the state and national highways too was normal. A few vehicles from Goa were also seen on Belagavi road on Sunday. Commuters, businessmen and common citizens have heaved a sigh of relief, as Belagavi city including north Karnataka region was returning back to normal after tension gripped the region for more than a week due to strikes, Bandhs and agitations. While the deployment of adequate police force continued on Sunday, according to police, no untoward incident was reported from Belagavi and the sensitive areas of north Karnataka region. Meanwhile, the supply of vegetables, milk and other commodities to Goa was also normal. After the Saturday s Bandh, a large number of vehicles carrying vegetables crowded Belagavi s wholesale vegetable market near Fort area. “Supplies of vegetables are above normal today and we expect to send at least 25 vehicles from the wholesale market to Goa today,” Umesh Patil a wholesale supplier told The Goan.
