Lifesavers rescue couple at Arambol, man in kayak mishap at Palolem

PANAJI
A couple and another man were rescued by Drishti Lifesavers in two separate incidents at Arambol and Palolem on Friday.

The first incident was reported at about 4.40 pm at Arambol when a couple in their thirties entered the waters wearing their personal life jackets.

After a while, the duo felt comfortable and took off their life jackets and continued to swim.

A short while later, Drishti lifesaver Manoj Parab noticed the couple gesturing for help as they seemed to have got caught in a rip current and rushed to help.

Drishti lifesaver Jitendra also moved in to assist. Lifesaver Manoj secured one victim with the rescue tube while the other was secured by Jitendra and brought safely ashore.

The second incident took place at around 5.15 pm when a 30-year-old man from Bangalore went kayaking in the open sea at Palolem beach.

Due to the choppy waves, the waters began entering the kayak. This led to the victim panicking as he gestured for help.

Drishti lifesaver Ramesh Velip who was patrolling the beach immediately got onto the Jetski and rushed to help the victim. He secured the victim on the Jetski and brought him back to safety.

This is the fourth kayak related rescue within a month.
