A truck illegally carrying 55 boxes of alcohol was seized at Anmod Ghat by the excise department officials during a routine check.
The officials seized goods worth 7 lakhs, which included alcohol worth 1.15 lak rupees being transported across the Goa Karnataka border hidden under wooden chips in the vehicle. The arrested truck driver revealed the names of the ones behind the consignment to the officials who are absconding.
A chargesheet is filed against the accussed, further investigations in process.
