Litterateurs urged not to portray women wrongly

MARGAO
Renowned litterateur Dr Jayanti Naik has said that the difference between men and women will end only when litterateurs will stop portraying women wrongly.

The renowned litterateur and folklore researcher was speaking at the 58th Founder’s Day of Konkani Bhasha Mandal Goa. KBM celebrated its founder’s day in an online function.

She said Goan youth are investing their crucial youth time for the development of Konkani language and society which is highly appreciable. “The strength of any language is the variation in its dialect and style. Konkani language has a rich vocabulary which is being lost gradually. Inferiority complex towards one’s own dialect is been created in the society because of which a lot of dialects are getting lost. It is necessary for everybody to come together and think about the ways to preserve these dialects,” she added.

The programme also saw the release of the special souvenir at the hands of Dr Naik. The souvenir is available on www.konkanibhashamandal.com. The programme was live through the official Facebook page of Konkani

Bhasha Mandal and also via Mandal’s YouTube channel for the public.

Konkani Bhasha Mandal President Anwesha Singbal said that boundaries and differences are applicable only to selfish people. “Selfless workers of the language have only one caste, one religion and only one language that is Konkani,” she said.

She said the mandal has continued its work in the present Covid situation by conducting various literary as well as educational activities online.
