Rooting for a grand alliance

Goa Forward Chief Vijaibab Sardesai is believed to have mooted a janata-type experiment to unseat the BJP in Goa. With the 2022 electoral battle just a year and a half away, Vijaibab apparently thinks that no single party, regional or national, may be able to dislodge the saffron brigade on its own. Sources say Vijaibab has shared his grand alliance concept, a mahagathbandhan of sorts, with both the national and regional parties to avoid a split in the opposition vote and effectively take on the BJP in 2022. The main opposition party, the Congress, is still not unconvinced of Vijaibab’s mahagathbandhan plan. Wait and watch.

Congress MLA Reginaldbab Lourenco appears to be in no mood to scale down his attacks against his party leaders. And, he remains unfazed over GPCC Chief Girishbab Chodankar’s office note barring party leaders and workers from going to the media or protest without his (Girish) nod.
