It’s a sheer coincidence that GPCC Chief Girishbab Chodankar and CLP leader Digambar Kamat both hail from minority-dominated Saxttidom “ the Congress’s powerhouse. The duo, however, faces a moot question “ can they manage to retain stronghold over the taluka minus a Catholic face? This question has started doing the rounds in Congress circles in Saxttidom where as many as eight out of the 40 Assembly seats are at stake. And, this question is expected to come to haunt the Congress leadership in the run-up to the 2022 electorate battle, exactly a year and a half away.
