The Gram Sabha of Loliem-Polem village on Sunday at 10 am is expected to be a stormy meeting, as six different major projects proposed are to be taken up for discussion.
Among the public issues listed on the Agenda pertains to a discussion on the 6 proposed projects of a Sainik School, a Solar Power Plant, GTDC wayside amenities for tourists, construction of building by the Comunidade, and a Cricket Ground, besides the construction of 8 agro-processing unit projects of Small Scale Industries, all on the plateau lands of the Village as being considered by the Loliem-Polem Communidade.
The gramsabha will further consider for approval of resolutions passed during last Gram Sabha and to approve the expenditure incurred by the panchayat from April 26 to August 2, as the first two agenda points.
Discussions on various functions of the biodiversity of the village, as well as resolutions, letters/suggestions to be placed before the Gram Sabha, and development works in the village are the two other points on the agenda.
It may be recalled that the villagers have claimed that despite an existing Gram Sabha resolution not to bring out any development works which would disturb the ecology of the village, Loliem-Polem Comunidade is processing files to allot land measuring over 27 lakh sqm for major projects in the village.
