Stating that karyakartas are the strength of the BJP, Union Minister of State for Tourism Shripad Naik said losing even one of them amounts to losing hundreds of votes for the party.
“As assembly elections are around the corner, there is a need to rekindle the sense of vigour, vitality and dynamism among the karyakartas and they should ensure that social schemes devised by the BJP reach people at the grassroots,” said Naik.
He was speaking at Socorro after inaugurating the Four-Arm street lighting installed by the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) near Shantadurga temple in the presence of Mandrem MLA and GTDC Chairperson Dayanand Sopte, former minister Dilip Parulekar, North Goa BJP President Mahanand Asnodkar, Socorro Sarpanch Sandeep Vazarkar and North Goa Zilla Parishad President Kartik Kudnekar.
Speaking further, the union minister said the development of every village is the motto of the BJP.
“People never forget the work done for them and the progress of the country depends on the development of villages,” said Naik.
Former minister Dilip Parulekar, Mahanand Asnodkar, Sandeep Vazarkar and Kartik Kudnekar also spoke on the occasion.
A Four-Arm street lighting was also installed by GTDC at Ramwadeshwar temple in Alto-Torda, Porvorim.
‘2,100 street lightings installed by GTDC’

Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) Chairperson Dayanand Sopte has said his corporation has installed 1,750 Four-Arm and 350 High Mast street lightings across the State at a cost of Rs 17.3 crore.
“Energy charges for these lamps are being borne by the State government. The demand for installation of Four-Arm and High Mast street lightings is growing in the State. The GTDC has also undertaken the task of beatification of temples and churches in the State,” said Sopte.
