Loutolim submits village draft CZMP to govt

The Village Panchayat of Loutolim has submitted the finalised draft CZMP on Friday to the office of the Minister for Environment and other authorities.  

The plan was finalised after it was placed before the gram sabha, VDC and panchayat body meeting and after incorporating suggestions made by villagers and various stakeholders such as comunidade, fishermen, farmers, tenants’ association and technical persons from the village. A report has been also enclosed justifying various additions and deletions made in the said plan.  

Copies of the plan along with the report have been submitted to the office of the Minister for Environment, Member Secretary, Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority and Director of Fisheries.  

The village panchayat office has also forwarded soft copies of the plan and report to the Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Govt of India, New Delhi and The Director, National Centre for Sustainable Coastal Management, Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Govt of India, Chennai.  

Help was taken from NGOs, environmentalist, legal experts and Geology Department of Chowgule College in preparation of the said draft plan.  

The Loutolim panchayat has urged the government to consider and incorporate the various deletions and additions made in the plan after a thorough study and collection of data in the draft plan submitted.
