The second train carrying around 1500 passengers left the Margao railway station for Prayagraj for the Maha Kumbh on Thursday evening, with Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phal Dessai announcing that the government may put an additional train to carry passengers to Prayagraj if the situation warrants.

After flagging off the special train under the government’s Dev Darshan Scheme in the presence of Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar, the Social Welfare Minister said the third train will leave for Prayagraj on February 21 carrying another batch of pilgrims to the holy centre.

He, however, said the government may deploy another train for Prayagraj after February 21 after assessing the situation and if it so demands.
